In the Works
In the rural desolation of the movie Pocahontas, Virginia [released under the title The Turning], a young man (Michael Dolan) who has a past with some white-supremacist organizations terrorizes his father's new, free-spirited lover (Karen Allen) in order to drive her away and bring together his long-estranged parents. "It's dark and extremely realistic about a dysfunctional family," says Tess Harper, who plays the alcoholic mom. "It's about the state of America, and being afraid, and how that leads some people to belong to extreme and narrow groups."
